Rapid Response Unit

The ANSS Rapid Response Unit consists of Australia’s highest trained security operatives from the ANSS Special Operations Unit, a highly experienced specialist security unit which is tactically trained to deal and respond to high risk and critical situations.

The Rapid Response Unit can be called to rapidly respond to an area or facility to immediately provide or implement a high-level security cordon area or a highly secured sensitive environment, whether it is in a metropolitan city or regional area.

In the event of an incident occurring, the unit is able to rapidly respond to the area, secure the area or site / facility until the arrival of Law Enforcement and or Government Security Agencies if required, then continue to remain at the location after their departure to ensure the location remains secure.

The Rapid Response Unit has been called to rapidly respond and secure many incidents around Australia such as; Gas facilities after conjoining bomb threats, Oil refinery facilities after bomb threats, sabotage and bomb threats involving isolated regional Gas refinery, and to secure Gas pipelines after suspicious reported activity. This specialist unit has also been deployed to secure regional airports after being advised of possible terrorist activity, they have undertaken covert aircraft surveillance, as well as to conduct covert surveillance of coastal movements of shipping vessels. The unit has also responded to major corporations to secure them to the highest level after terrorist and bomb threats have been initiated to ensure they are not carried out.

The Rapid Response Unit is currently used by a number of high risk corporations in metropolitan and isolated outback locations, as well as Mine sites, Oil and Gas Facilities, Communication facilities and Defence facilities for their site security protection as well as Rapid Response Security support, should any high risk threats be reported.

In addition to Rapid Response assistance, ANSS can also provide full time high - level security to a site or facility even if a threat has not been made towards an organisation, ensuring that the highest levels of security are continuously in place.
